Southeast Asia Regional Branch of the International Council on Archives (SARBICA) held its 19th general conference and an international seminar from September 9 to 11, 2014 in Hanoi, Vietnam. SARBICA, one of the oldest regional branches of the International Council on Archives (ICA), is run by the executive board composed of delegates from Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thai, and Vietnam.
International seminar of September 10 attracted about 130 audiences from 15 countries. Under the theme of "Authenticity of Electronic Records," 9 speakers from the relevant profession gave presentations in three sessions.
In Session 3: Solution to Ensure Authenticity of Electronic Record, one of our staff members delivered a presentation titled "The Electronic Records Archives of Japan: Approaches to Ensuring Authenticity at the National Archives" and explained the outline of our system for electronic public records. It stimulated questions from the floor, which showed the audience's high interest in the topic.
* Further details of this SARBICA meeting in Hanoi will be reported in No. 55 of our journal "Archives" to be published in February 2015.
