The National Archives of Japan conducted a project to restore public documents of the city of Miyako, Iwate Prefecture, damaged by the Great East Japan Earthquake as follows.
Upon request of Miyako, the National Archives of Japan implemented this project, aiming to support the city to restore damaged public documents immediately by fostering personnel who would take on local restoration work.
The National Archives of Japan provided Miyako with the equipment and supplies used in this project free of charge for the city's future restoration work.

(13 days in total except Saturdays, Sundays, and National Holidays)
*Held a skill training on Sep.12 to give local residents hired for restoration a vital skill for restoration, making use of
the system of Tokyo Document Recovery Assistance Force, a volunteer organization.
